Cargo Privacy Policy

Cargo-Bid.com provides an internet service that brings shippers and agents together to a single meeting point to auction off single shipments. The site provides the shipper the opportunity to post a shipment, and let interested agents bid for that shipment with their respective rates.

Registration Information
The Cargo-Bid registration form requires the user to give us company information including address, email, phone, etc...
This information is used in making the contact between the shipper and the agent, once a shipper selects an agent to handle his shipment.
We also use this information to send notification emails throughout the process of auctioning a shipment. These notifications include: A registration verification, a new shipment request, a shipment cancellation, a shipment details update, a new bid for a shipment, an updated bid for a shipment, and a cancellation of a bid.
We also contact users for the purposes of notifying them of service updates and explanation of services.

Shipment / Rates Information
In the process of auctioning a shipment, the first part is when a shipper posts a shipment up for auction. This requires to the shipper to fill in information about the shipment. This information includes, among other things, a detailed information of the cargo, shipping date, shipment destination, and so on.
Cargo-Bid uses this information in it's notification email to agents in order allow them to place a bid with their rates for the particular shipment.
This information is the basis for an agent in making a bid with their respective rates. It is viewable by all relevant agents. Note however, that only shipment information is viewable. The shipper's contact information, as well as his identity is always hidden to all users except the shipper himself.
